It’s about affordability…Even though the housing boom has cooled and we have seen a downturn in the subprime market, home ownership continues to sit at the heart of the American dream. For many current and prospective homeowners today, the chief concern is whether they can afford their neighborhood of choice. My goal as City Council member is to bring hope to all Long Beach residents; from East to the West End. The responsibility of revitalizing our infrastructure and promoting economic growth should not come by burdening current and prospective residents of Long Beach, it comes from efficient and fair municipal management.

The Nassau County Democratic Team came to Long Beach to kick-off the 2009 campaign at a huge rally held this past Tuesday. More then 150 Democrats from the barrier beach were on hand to cheer on Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi and Nassau District Attorney Kathleen Rice, who are both running for re-election and Carrie Solages, who is the Democratic candidate for Nassau County Clerk.

Mr. Suozzi publicly endorsed the Long Beach Democratic slate of Len Torres, Fran Adelson and Mike Fagen for City Council and Scott Nigro for City Court Judge. “Democrats are the party of the people. The Democratic Party is the party that puts people first, before special interests and personal agendas. It is very important to Long Beach and to Nassau County to return Democratic leadership to this great community,” Suozzi stated.
